Which country does the most good for the world? | Simon Anholt
Trki, Kody, Cheaty do
It's an unexpected side effect of globalization: problems that once would have stayed local—say, a bank lending out too much money—now have consequences worldwide. But still, countries operate independently, as if alone on the planet. Policy advisor Simon Anholt has dreamed up an unusual scale to get governments thinking outwardly: The Good Country Index. In a riveting and funny talk, he answers the question, "Which country does the most good?" The answer may surprise you (especially if you live in the US or China). This is the first bad TED talk I have seen, or perhaps bad YouTube video of a TED Talk. Video does not prove tittle in anyway. He needs to add per capita to the end of his title.

From the intro...
"...if a bank lent money and threatened to go bankrupt...."
Well, have I got news for you.
A 100 years ago banks (in North America, USA) actually HAD lent so much money to the western Allies, that if GB and France had lost WW1 (or forced into a compromised war) DID at least in part lead to the US declaration of war on the Central Powers, Versailles, and all that followed.... -
What about human rights? It should be somewhere in the list. England deserves to be slightly lower than #4 on the online list, because of the whole Snowden issue.
-
Ireland is 11th in the online list o-O
-
Germany is number 1 at world order, are you kidding me right now? The inwards attitude of the political elite there is what will end the European Union. Also, Ireland contributing 2 times more in science than Russia?? How is this possible? Also, shouldn't France be higher on culture on the list? I need to question how this data was created.

-
what rubbish ? how about which country ripped off other countries the most to get rich ?
-
BULLSHIT !!! Cause it's based on "United Nations and the other organisations", "if they don't collect or don't publish the data, there's nothing we can do about it except wait until they do."
Well, then JUST CHECK BHUTAN!!!- 72% of it's territory is forest! HALF OF THE COUNTRY IS A NATIONAL PARKS WHERE HAUNTING IS PROHIBITED!
(It currently has net zero greenhouse gas emissions because the small amount of pollution it creates is absorbed by the forests that cover most of the country.
The entire country collectively produces 2.2 million tons of carbon dioxide a year. Yet the immense forest covering 72% of the country acts as a carbon sink, absorbing more than four million tons of carbon dioxide every year) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhutan#Geography
Don't tell me they don't know about that - most probably they don't want YOU to know about that!
(sorry, english is not my native) -
Might as well have just called it "The Liberal Country Index"
-
The index is flawed and so is this albino nitwit. This explains why the world is so fucked up, when worthless fucking albinos like this stooge are setting policies in Whiteyland.
-
Amazing !!
-
