How do you enable the gage coin thing because it is saying "requires inventory extensions" what does that mean

Does it take money/gage coins to customize your weapon? And can other players see it, or can you only see it (and does everyone in your lobby have to have the goonmod to play with you?)

I was against mods, I still don't like mods that show up a lot of informations and hold the hand of the player, but since overkill seems not to care about improving the game, I'm using a lot of mods now, they really improve the experience without change the gameplay. My personal favorite is the MUI HUD.
