Challenge in games can be fun but sometimes you just want to mindlessly wreak havoc. That's where cheat codes come in. Get ready for the five most legendary cheat codes in the history of gaming. 5. Doom – PC – 1993 – God mode IDDQD Playing Doom was pretty tough and extremely scary back in the early nineties, but things got a lot easier when you entered the I-D-D-Q-D code. This code enables God Mode, which makes killing demons as easy as breathing. 4. GTA 3 – PS2 – 2002 – All weapons code The Grand Theft Auto series has always been full of eater eggs and interesting cheats. In GTA 3 you could unlock everything by entering a code. This way you could easily jump into a tank. Or you would simply unlock ALL weapons! 3. Mortal Kombat – Sega Genesis – 1993 – ABACABB Blood code Mortal Kombat was a very bloody game when it was released in the arcade. The home console versions were censored, but on the Sega Genesis you could unlock all the gore with the famous blood code. The A.B.A.C.A.B.B. code is a nod to a famous Genesis album. The blood code did not work on the Super Nintendo though no matter what your friends might have told you at the time. 2. Metroid – NES – 1986 – Samus Aran bikini code 'Justin Bailey' The western version of the first Metroid game allowed gamers to enter a code which would spawn you to certain levels. It's the old school version of check points really. But there were also more interesting codes you could enter. Like the Justin Bailey code, which unlocks the bikini suit for the famous female hero. 1. Contra – NES – 90s – Konami code Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A The most legendary code of all time is of course the Konami code. If you bought a Konami game for the NES there was a big chance that Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A would give you full health, more weapons and extra lives. Many developers since then paid tribute to the famous code by putting it in their games, websites and other things. What is your favourite video game cheat?
