Peter Attia: What if we're wrong about diabetes?
Trki, Kody, Cheaty do
As a young ER doctor, Peter Attia felt contempt for a patient with diabetes. She was overweight, he thought, and thus responsible for the fact that she needed a foot amputation. But years later, Attia received an unpleasant medical surprise that led him to wonder: is our understanding of diabetes right? Could the precursors to diabetes cause obesity, and not the other way around? A look at how assumptions may be leading us to wage the wrong medical war. 10;40 he says; "when I lost my 40 (lbs) I did it just restricting 'those things' ( refined sugars, etc.) total lie. He obviously works out and had to work out to get there

Spent this Summer on a low carbohydrate ketogenic diet. Lost 25 pounds in 3 months eating as much of the "correct" stuff as I could handle. This man is a life changer.
-
what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I
have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were
you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. -
Had it for 17 years now, since I was 1. Grown up with it, have insanely good control, always on 5 or 6. And you have some good knowledge Peter, missing some, but good job none the less ^-^

He is right. Changing your diet can get rid of the weight and exercise give you a way to burn energy but it has an unidentified metabolic cause. Getting fat is the result, compounding the issue. I think it is maybe the result of 1950's nuke testing. Thyroid related??? An interesting clue is that Psoriasis is also highly associated with the disease. (this also is considered incurable).

Great speech, good points and from the heart (as it should be)!

so IF is the solution,

What if you're just giving diabetics a "false hope" by publishing this stupid video (no single proven medical theory or fact) ?

Years ago, the school of medicine was apart of the school of public health. Once the institution decided to separate the two schools, doctors no longer treat the root causes of diseases. Most are legal drug dealers "practicing medicine". Not all doctors are basic in their understanding; there are some that are truly epidemiogist. I agree with Dr Attia; experience makes a difference and process food is a beast.

I've listened to this man 3 times -- every time I hear of somebody having diabetes. What he's saying is that processed/fast food/sodas have created an endocrine storm in the body. Keeping millions of people in a state of chronic illness is very good for business. That's what the profit motive leads to. When the medical establishment puts their attention on profits, everybody loses.

This makes a lot of sense. Thank you!
-
Wow that was incredibly moving emotionally. I commend you Peter Attia. You are an awesome individual and deserve the utmost respect for giving this talk and being open to real science based protocols for diseases
-
A real doctor here -- someone who questions basic conventional wisdom -- basically diabetes/obesity are both related to a metabolic storm in the body caused by processed food.
-
Dr. Attia, this was a great talk. God bless you!
-
thank you so much Peter Attia. So many doctors played with my life, you make me feel better...I cried with you when I watched it
-
Can you cure my type 1 diabetes or not?
-
At the age of 61 I was a healthy man, at least I thought so until I a blood test was carried out which showed I had type 2 diabetes. This Stuff is really good [Go here===https://plus.google.com/102443457991099589207/posts/7Zo634Dr11x ] This was after I experienced a light headedness and cold sweat which made me uncomfortable and going to see a doctor. At this time I noticed I was getting really thirsty and urinating frequently. Never ignore the signs when you see them. This is a lesson I have come to learn.

T2 diabetes cure: HFLC diet. full stop. end of story. You will lose weight. T1, less clear since insulin suppression already occurs.

This is powerful....

I am a 23 year old male, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 12. My body weight have never exceeded 135 pounds, and I am 5'6". Today I feel so much strength and energy. [Go here=== https://plus.google.com/102443457991099589207/posts/4xio2WyZm3Z ]. I was experiencing weight loss and high blood pressure and a tingling in my toe. I failed to take good care of the disease and it became worse. But I have been saved. The earlier you take care of your diabetes, the better.
