Militant atheism | Richard Dawkins
Trki, Kody, Cheaty do
http://www.ted.com Biologist Richard Dawkins launches into a full-on appeal for atheists to make public their beliefs and to aggressively fight the incursion of religion into politics and education. Dawkins' scornful tone drew strongly mixed reactions from the audience; some stood and applauded his courage. Others wondered whether his strident approach could do more harm than good. Dawkins went on to publish The God Delusion and become perhaps the world's best-known atheist. Dawkins is a hard materialist-atheist, and has a way of drawing you into this rigid viewpoint by making everything else look illogical. However, there is a non-physical dimension of the universe which cannot be found with a microscope, but that is very real and important. The final understanding us humans reach will come from combining the wisdom of religion with the scepticism of science, and throwing out the ego and dogma on both sides. Tom Campbell has the answer, read 'My Big TOE'

Why must science and religion be mutually exclusive?
Science deals with all things measurable.
Religion deals with all things moral.
God is the overlap. Does He exist? Science doesn't allow the negative case. That is, it's not up to science to disprove God. It's up to religion to prove Him. So how do you prove the intangible and unknowable? It comes down to faith.
Faith doesn't mean you stop searching for God. Faith doesn't mean you discount science. Faith is simply accepting something as true without proof. Every step you take you have faith the ground (or floor) will be there when your foot makes contact. But it's possible your foot will sink into the ground. It's possible the ground will simply move out of the way. There are many ways your foot could fail to make contact.
Similarly science defines axioms and maintains faith they are true. For many there is no proof.
The belief in God (or a higher power) is a necessary step for most of us. It forces us to keep our morals in check. Without it, we are the masters and can do anything we desire within the confines of laws. Social graces fall away and we devolve into our basest selves.
For proof of this, just look at most of the conversations anywhere online. People are anonymous and so free to speak their mind with impunity. Most don't apply morals (or lack them in the first place) because it's not required. They have no responsibility to a higher power and so ignore most morals. -
richard dawkins is satan in the flesh! he forces his beliefs on everyone else in the world! everyone knows he idolizes charles darwin! charles darwin did not try to stomp out everyone else's beliefs! richard dawkins' theories have been debunked numerous times and he has lost countless debates!

Atheism = Non-violent Jihadists = Pure talkshit-ism
I'm a Christian and i don't have problems living together with non-religious or other religious groups. I agree that government shouldn't put religious things in books or schools but atheism also shouldn't be allowed to be put in books or schools because if there's a lack of evidence of God as you claim, you also don't have evidence that God didn't exist. Science can only prove things to be true after repeated observations, does God can be observed by science? If science can't observe God then it cannot go on to it's conclusion. It's like investigating a crime scene which you don't have evidence but the crime does happen so you can't give conclusion. -
Science cannot and will never be able to "disprove" God or Jesus. They actually co-exist much more than you think. The fact that people just want to live their lives completely independently without God is an issue of pride and sinful human nature. I refuse to believe that our world, our society, and our innovative minds are here just by pure random. You know what the chances of our world being so perfect as it is are? And if our universe sprung into action by a random singularity, why doesn't this happen more often? Why doesn't a gorilla "spawn" in my back-yard?
So many of the biblical prophecies have already been fulfilled. Jesus was sent, and he died on the cross for the world's sin. It's a choice of yours to accept him into your life.
Don't violently insult me, because it doesn't lead anywhere, even though I know that's a favorite way of communication these days. -
Still, I can see quite a lot of prejudice in this Dawkins' speeches..The teapot explanation doesn't face the problem, a man of science should be agnostic not atheist. Iss not a matter of respect, there can't be no prejudice or dogmas when you use logic, just postulates.

Did someone write him the text or is what he is saying his own words?

ah so sad this is eight years old and nothing has changed

I'm a militiant agnostic. Internet fite me!

TED, use the teardrop opening music, you're trying too hard.

Scientists many times have been certain of scientific principles that were pretty much accepted only to be proven wrong ( i.e. superseded scientific theories) so why should we trust dawkins judgement on a subject matter much more ambiguous and vague?

So the world came into being, and Richard Dawkins happened to get it right.
Determinism moves in mysterious ways.
