This seems like a developer glitch to allow employee's of GF at the time to aquire strong mons early to allow them to test different aspects of the game many times. So awesome.

Pikachu has to be the first pokemon in your party in order for this glitch to work, I had to reset my game because I'd used Pidgey

that's pretty awesome, it also lets you catch pokemon that aren't available to catch in the game, I just caught a lvl 1 Ivysaur, now it is a lvl 100 Venusaur!

The first trick with pikachu works and you don't have to waste the potion, just go to use the item on him when he is full health, and it will obviously still say that it won't have any effect but it still registers as used regarding pikachu's "like meter" for lack of better term, the more times you spam it the more he likes you....which does nothing, but you can cycle through all the random talk to pikachu animations....

IT WORKED !!! It works guys . Just save it before you go and you use the escape rope it took me about 5 times but it works !!

Whats the point in playing if you have a lvl 100 that early in the game

This works up to the part where I level the pokemon up...but it usually goes up to level 2....
