Diablo 3 Podcast #172: Fun Legendary Items & The Blood Shard Exploit
Trki, Kody, Cheaty do
What's it like to transition from Hardcore to Softcore? Plus, the best new builds and most fun new legendary/set items in Patch 2.2 and Season 3. Also, does power creep make Torment 10+ necessary? Featuring M0uakkai and Muggs. 0:30 -- Muggs talks about the switch to Softcore for Season Three and the big differences between HC and SC play. 6:30 -- HC vs. SC mindset for starting fresh in a Season. Is SC all public game leeches in rares and Cain's Set? 13:00 -- First week of Season Three and Patch 2.2. What's going on with new builds? Everyone loves IK/WW Barbs... would they be totally OT with Mortick's Brace? (Probably, but Barb Elite damage still sucks.) 25:00 -- Fun new legendary affixes in Patch 2.2/S3. Sash of Knives = Impale belt! Convention of Elements ring always rolls well and can be awesome. Naglering = super OP while leveling up. Crashing Rain belt for Natalya's RoV is probably OP as well. Lots of new legendary belts with useful offensive properties in the current patch making Witching Hour obsolete? 36:00 -- New Demon Hunter UE set. Why just Multishot? And is UE scary-squishy compared to Marauder's? 48:00 -- In-Geom sword. Revolutionary Dashing Strike clear speed for Monks? Eun-Jang-Do dagger on Mercs = last 20% hps, Guardians are frozen. 53:00 Blood Shard exploit and Blizzard's response. Appropriate punishment? Blizzard's non-transparent handling of the matter. Where's the line between exploit/cheat vs. clever abuse of game mechanics? 1:08:00 -- The strange dichotomy of Blizzard relentlessly promoting Streamers, and then deleting all forum threads naming which streamers were abusing the exploit. 1:12:00 -- Blizzcon 2015 ticket sales... who scored tickets? 1:16:00 -- Power creep in v2.2... why is everyone GR40+ already? Power without the creep? Do we need Torment 10 or higher? Or would that make the build diversity too narrow? Would removing Realm of Trials reduce requests for higher levels of Torment? ______________________________________ Links and a short description of every show can be seen in the Diablo 3 Podcast Episode Guide in Diablowiki.net. * http://www.diablowiki.net/The_Diablo_Podcast_Episode_Guide Find Diablo:IncGamers on * http://diablo.incgamers.com * Facebook: http://facebook.com/DiabloIncGamers * Twitter: http://twitter.com/DiabloIncGamers

Half of what was said mattered, the other half was really stupid. Especially in regard to the discussion of the blood shard exploit. There isn't a fine line at all... some things are obviously working as intended, even if it's a little broken, and things that certainly don't work the way they do. There were a lot of excuses that the competition doesn't exist, but the reality is that if they want seasons to be a reset then it DOES matter. Fucking excuses are all I heard.
Next, I knew about the exploit in PTR, saw it being used, and didn't bother. The fact is, not everyone is a pathetic cheater. The fact that some speaking in this think everyone would only reflects on their own perspective.
Next, for those that think HC is really all that much better, how many times did you actually level your own characters? How often do you play solo? How many of you actually try for leader boards?
So... it's just a longer road to the same thing. If it reset everything, no stash, no Para levels, then it is better. I play both, it's not a big deal, grow up. -

''gives some people benefit''...the fuck? People got in to leardboards with ancient items they gambled by explotiting huge amounts of bloodshards. I got to 10th in barb without all that..

For me, the main difference has simply been how you gear. Kind of like what was said in past podcasts. Gearing to retain lots of toughness and recovery vs. the softcore near straight damage gear pursuit.

Aaannnd... yeah... but... ... yeah... uhm.... yeah... That dood is pretty annoying to listen to. Has a pretty nice Will Shatner impression which he seemed to be doing the whole episode.
Also, you been having too many softcores on lately. When I hear someone say "I die a few times doing X" they lose all credibility to me. -
