Heat info from Buggaton: "I did some tests. The Heat generated by everything except campfires and forges dissipates after 25-40 in game minutes. Shorter game days (20-50 real life minutes per game day) therefore actually benefit from a lower heatmap affect. Longer days (60+) suffer from it. Upgrading frames and base parts raises heat by 0.05 for 50 minutes. This is 0.05 for every swing, therefore stone axes generate more heat overall than wrenches and claw hammers the least when upgrading walls. Nailguns doing upgrades..." alright I see ur point for the new guys and all. again I wasn't hating ur vid. I thought it was cool with all the facts to the spawn system. But I could use help. I have can't find animals. I need them for meat and hide for my new forge. But where ever I go. no animals. can u explain why or offer a solution.

look I get ur point. But who cares about the heat when u have a kick ass base were the dead freaks comet suicide just by trying to reach ya. honesty just fuck the hear map idea. so i have a underground base, all the way to bed rock, and im not getting many zeds to fall in my spike pit (using a free fall system with a cage at the center bottom.)
They not coming down, its like they dont sense me lol. So i was thinking of maybe making a row or 2 of torches towards the top of my hole, not above outside but still in the hole just like the 2 or 3rd layer down. do you think this will help?
